Hello!

My artsy -registered- name is Tropicana Piel Canela, but everybody calls me Lola.  I was born in the US, but my parents went to pick me up when I was three months of age.  Since then, I call Panama home.

Mom & Dad say that, when they first met me and my brothers and sisters, what impressed them the most -aside from the fact that we were all adorable, but I was the cutest- was how playful, lovable and soft we are in person.

They say it was love at first sight, and that was even before they found out how funny and mischievous we really are, specially among fellow Havanese!

When I got home, Mikey, the Cocker, Alejandro, the rabbit, and Skippy, the cat were already living here.  I tried to teach Skippy how to play like a Havanese, but he just didn't get it. Alejandro told me -in no uncertain terms- that he ruled in the laundry area, and I decided to let him believe I accepted his conditions. Little did he know that, a few months later, I would use all the genetic traits of my breed -as poultry herders in Cuba- to make him go back to his area whenever he dared to escape without supervision. Boy, those rabbits can be fast, but we Havanese fly.

Mikey, well, he is something else, let me tell you.  During the first two weeks after I arrived, he stayed on top of the furniture, looking the other way, hoping that I would disappear.  I did not vanish, and he finally decided to come down.  It didn't take him five minutes to find out that I would become his best friend and his #1 fan.

Having said that, I have to confess that there is nothing in the world that I enjoy more than stealing the toys he's playing with.  The object per se is immaterial, so whatever he has in his mouth is my goal.  My technique has proven 100% effective: I just go around him to let him know that the games have started, and then I give him so many kisses that -when he tries to growl- paf, I take it and run very fast.  Invariably, I give it back to him, because, as I said, the fun is not to have it, but to steal it from him.

I am a professional dancer, fast as the wind, and I have the ability to jump extremely high, without much effort.  Candela and Charlie are also fast, but I'm the fastest hands down.  No wonder Mom says I "fly".

Another one of my favorite occupations, is to wait until Dad goes to wash his teeth at night -pretending I'm sound asleep- and then jump real fast and take his side of the bed.  It's not that I want to stay there, it's just our cue that it's time to snuggle.

Mom calls me "Fula" -blondie- and she says that with just one look, I win everybody's heart.  That quality and the way I turn over belly-up, help me get away with most anything!

But don't be fooled by my sweet, angelic face.  With my lady-like ways I'm the one that rules the house.  Charlie and Candela would not dare take something away from me, if I don't give my permission first.  What leads me to confess another passion: leaving a toy close to them, and going to "sleep" besides it.  You have to see the way they look at it, moan, beg Mom and Dad to give it to them, because they wouldn't dare take it on their own.  Sorry, but power feels good.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you something amazing.  When I arrived from the States, Mom & Dad gave me one cool present: the park that is in front of our house.  Yeap, one whole park just for me!  So I promptly chose a special place in Mommy's office where I can see who goes in, letting them know right away that it is private property.

Partner, fun, mischievous, loving and flirtatious, I am a true Havanese girl!
